Meet Our Organization’s Founder
Valencia Clay founded Ladies Inspired to Empower (L.I.T.E.), a nonprofit organization focused on women’s empowerment, in 2014. L.I.T.E. routinely hosts free self-improvement workshops to help women and children in need overcome their individual challenges in order to live happy, healthy, and productive lives.
Prior to finding L.I.T.E., Valencia Clay began her journey to becoming an empowerment advocate and entrepreneur as a volunteer for local nonprofit organizations across New York including Women in Need Shelter (WIN), Women’s Prison Association (WPA), and Dress for Success (DFS), which all serve to help disadvantaged women.

In 2016, Valencia founded her own publishing company, V.L.C. House of Self-Help Publishing LLC. In October of 2017, she published her first two books, titled: "Love for Her Sistas" and "Inner Road to Healing". Her autobiography, titled: "All by Myself" will be published in 2018. She is also the host of several YouTube videos that focus on self-improvement including “Problem Child Within Us,” “Subjective & Objective Thinking,” and “Belief Systems.”
With her passion, persistence, and endurance deeply rooted in empowering all women, Valencia intends to make L.I.T.E. one of the most influential women’s empowerment organizations across the world.
Valencia holds a bachelor’s degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She can be reached by email at valencia@litesisters.org.
